Many of you are wondering about Mont Saint-Michel access by bike. In fact, following the local bylaw of Le Mont-Saint-Michel town, restrictions exist during tourist season.

Le Mont Saint-Michel by bike

Bicycles are allowed to circulate:

 

  • From 1 October to 30 April, 24 hours a day

 

  • From 1 May to 30 September before, 10am and after 6pm.

 

 

Parking your bike is forbidden all along the walkway bridge linking the Mont Saint-Michel with La Caserne, and forbidden as well on the esplanade and at the bottom of the rampart, we advise you to leave your bike in the designated areas.

Two parking areas with bicycles storage are made available for free:

  • One area located in section P9, near the tourist information centre.

  • One area located close to the dam square.

Once your bike is park, you will have to continue your progress towards the Mount on foot or by shuttle.

 

The walking time from the shuttle square to Le Mont Saint-Michel is estimated around 50 minutes.

 

Shuttles operate in continuous service, from 7:30am to 00:00pm. It takes about 12 minutes for the shuttle to drive from the hub to the end stop.

 

You can also take the "maringuote”. It’s a shuttle pulled by two draft horses. One way takes about 25 minutes.
