The sight is stunning, the island topped by its Gothic masterpiece of an abbey. The bay is subject to some of the biggest tidal variations in Europe, so the views change hourly. At high tide, the island is surrounded by water, but as the waters recede, a vast network of channels is revealed. These great shifts add to the magic.

24 St-Hilaire-du-Harcouët / Ducey-lès-Chéris
You may get a scent of sea air as you ride along this penultimate stage between the town of St-Hilaire-du-Harcouët, founded by a companion in arms of William the Conqueror, and Ducey, a former port where boats would arrive, pushed along by the tide.
25 Ducey-lès-Chéris / Mont-Saint-Michel
Discover the final stage of the Veloscenic cycle route: the greenway meanders towards the mouth of the Sélune River. Then begins a festival of glimpses of the Mont Saint-Michel through small Norman villages. The hedgerow countryside gives way to salt meadows, and the sea air gradually makes itself felt. You're almost there — the Marvel of the West is now just a few kilometres away...
